Carol Montandon
Carol Montandon has spent decades shaping the future of healthcare leadership, and now she turns her focus to empowering the next generation through The HBA Foundation as the Chair of the Board of Directors.

With a long-standing commitment to the Healthcare Businesswomen’s Association (HBA), from serving on its Board of Directors to leading as the 2024 Board Chair, Montandon brings a wealth of experience and a passion for developing programs that inspire, mentor, and support emerging healthcare leaders. As Chair of The HBA Foundation’s Board of Directors, she is poised to guide initiatives that strengthen the healthcare workforce and create a lasting impact across the industry.

Montandon’s journey with the HBA began through her work at Johnson & Johnson, one of the association’s Corporate Partners. There, she led the company’s Women’s Leadership and Inclusion Network, giving her a comprehensive perspective as both an HBA member and Corporate Partner. Her dedication to the HBA’s mission and core values positioned her to take on a leadership role with The HBA Foundation, where she aims to broaden her impact beyond her own organization.

“The HBA Foundation will allow me to reach the next generation of healthcare leaders,” Montandon said. “I’m excited to help inspire and support young professionals as they explore opportunities in healthcare and build meaningful careers.”

Under Montandon’s leadership, The HBA Foundation will focus on four strategic pillars: Educational Pathways, Mentorship and Leadership Programs, Pipeline Programs, and Training initiatives. These programs aim to attract, develop, and retain a strong and balanced healthcare workforce, ensuring the future of healthcare is vibrant and capable.

Having begun her own career as a lab technician, Montandon understands the importance of early exposure to healthcare careers. She emphasizes the Foundation’s role in creating pathways for students to explore the many opportunities in healthcare, from research and development to patient care and beyond.

“Everyone, at some point in life, will need healthcare for themselves, their families, and their communities,” Montandon said. “Supporting The HBA Foundation helps ensure we have the skilled workforce needed to improve health outcomes for all.”

As HBA Foundation Board Chair, Montandon is poised to guide the organization in advancing its mission: empowering the next generation of healthcare leaders through scholarships, mentorship, experiential learning, and professional training opportunities, shaping the future of healthcare worldwide.

“The HBA Foundation gives us the chance to inspire young people to explore healthcare careers, gain real experience, and grow into leaders who will shape the future of the industry,” Montandon said. “That impact, on individuals and on society, is why I’m proud to be part of this work.
